Nokia 9 PureView Real-World Test: After All the Updates

I originally did a Nokia 9 PureView real-world camera test, but held off on doing my full real-world test thanks to Nokia asking me to wait for an update before doing it. Well, that update (and plenty more) have finally arrived and so while I’m in Taipei for Computex, figured I’d finally get this real-world test done.

I'd be intruiged to get another review update now we have Android 10 finally stable after the May 2020 update….still love mine though it isn't perfect.

I think the battery life is awesome and the phone too this phone only cost me $650 AUD pretty good and if you put it on battery saver mode it lasts even longer.

Probably the most brain dead, hipsteristic, narcissistic "review" ever. What a waste of electrons.

The whole information content of it is: "takes X time to process photos, battery performance in my usage scenario was Y"

    Here, saved you watching

I just got my Nokia 9 2 days ago (Nov.24), and the finger print reader works fine. About 95% of the time. Whenever it's acting up I just calm down and place my finger on the spot GENTLY. I never , ever press harder. Beautiful phone! Smooth as silk and it takes incredible shots. I love it!

Id be interested to know how many pictures you did take that day. To understand the battery loss. I still own a Nokia 1020 (ftw) and it has the same pb. But very interested in knowing the use you made of the phone and of the camera of course (jpg only or raw enabled…)

I'm about to receive the Nokia 9 Pureview and have been watching the review videos to get an idea of how it works. I enjoyed your video; lots of fun with some great slo-mo camera shots between talking (not on Nokia, I'm guessing); but I did want to point out an issue with the battery test you did.
How was the phone set up? Did you leave wi-fi, bluetooth running the whole time? Did you keep all background apps open, or did you close them each time? Did you have automatic updates on the whole time for apps? Where you backing up to the cloud each time you took a shot? Did you regulate the screen brightness yourself or leave it full blast? etc..
I've got a Nokia 8 and, if I leave everything running, of course the battery runs down quickly. As is, I can make my Nokia last nearly 2 days without a charge just by keeping things streamlined, like a computer.
I'm interested because I'll be using my phone mainly for photography – I often go to extreme locations in nature where there is no power point, so battery life is important for me.
    Be interested to know- Cheers!

I think this device Nokia 9, is the “8 years challenged” of the Nokia N9 in 2011; that was the last of the serie N, and that had functions really awesome, and that created a starting point in the evolution of smartphones.
How forget that was the first smartphone that did not have a physical button on the screen.
I am so excited to see this device on the stores in my country and at least, touch it with my hands.
I am an user of an iPhone 8 plus, but I have beautiful memories about my last Nokia device that was Nokia 3120 Classic.
If Nokia is goint to look for a tester user, I would like to be a tester of Mexico. 🙌🏻🤩

Great real-world review as usual, Dave. Just one thing, though; please PLEASE try to speak a little slower as I had to replay sections of the video to try and catch what you were saying.

All I want is a phone with this front design and good speakers and a good selfie, no need for notches, holes… just give me this front design

This screen design and aspect is perfect, the phone design (mainly front) is superb, love it! Sadly the phone itself not that great. All I want is a phone with this front design and good speakers and a good selfie, no need for notches, holes… just give me this front design

I think Nokia 9 Pureview should have been a 6-camera phone where the sixth one is the main camera or normal camera since I think there still a slot for another camera. So that when a person just want to take quick pictures and doesn't need to have very high quality pictures he/she can use the sixth camera
