    I’ve been getting a lot of comments as to why I don’t include the iPhone X here. The reason is the phones included are those that are still sold by Apple. Apple does not make the iPhone X anymore. You may be able to pick it up at a store, but those are mostly leftovers.

    I chose the XR and I deeply regret it. “Beautygate” was real, and was never fully fixed (it’s caused by HDR and noise removal that cannot be disabled) and it makes selfies look hideous in about 60% of lighting conditions (may also be dependent on skin tone). Did apple release a “fix” for Beautygate in 12.1? Yes. Was that “fix” particularly effective? NO! Everyone has stopped talking about the issue, but it persists. Furthermore the XR can have monstrous amounts of noise/noise removal artifacts in low light images, another thing that people conveniently ignore when they’re gushing about how great the phones low light performance is. Finally, the pixel density has been more noticeable than I expected coming from a 400PPI phone. Whether this is a problem can only be answered on an individual basis, but don’t believe anyone who tells you that no one can see the difference. Even Steve Jobs claimed that the 320PPI “Retina” standard was transparent to people with 20/20 vision, and guess what: there are plenty of people with above 20/20.

    I have an 8+ and have been thinking about switching to a newer iPhone. After watching this video, I'm not sure it is worth it. Thanks for the video.
